ACCEPTING ALTERNATIVE SEXUALITIES
People around the world face violence and inequality and sometimes torture, even execution because of who the love, how they look, or who they are. Sexual orientation and gender identity are integral aspects of ourselves and should never lead to discrimination and abuse. What do alternative sexualities mean? The ones in general terms are known as LGBT initialism that stands for (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) is represents the diversity of sexualities and gender identity based.
The representation of the third gender traces back to the 1860s and gained wide acceptance in United States. In the various parts of the world there is a long struggle to accept the other sexualities in the society. In India LGBT face legal and social difficulties not experienced by non-LGBT persons. Sexual activity between the same gender is illegal and same sex couples cannot legally marry or a civil partnership in India. However, hijras are recognised as a third gender and are given the rights as all others get their recognition in the society. In cities Delhi, kolkata and Bangalore held their first gay pride parades in 2008.
Homosexual intercourse was criminal offence under Section 377 Indian Penal Code 1860. This was imposed by the British Government in India , 50 years before the west have changed and accepted other sexualities but India is still lacking behind .On December 2013 supreme court set aside 2009 decision of decriminalising consensual homosexual activity and decided the parliament should debate and decide on the matter. On December, 2015 bill was introduced in the parliament to decriminalisation of Section 377 but was rejected. Human rights groups expressed worries that this would render homosexual couples vulnerable to police harassment the supreme court decision is a ruling disappointing setback to human dignity and basic rights to privacy and non-discrimination. The acceptance in the law is must if this not accepted neither the society will.
The other sexualities rather facing the problems in their families and society had face it within themselves as they go through the different thoughts and are not able to understand the emotions within themselves. They also worry about how they would confront their families about their choices and reaction of the family also that matters. Many a times these people have expressed their situations they go through , how their Parents abandon them and and not ready to accept their choices, sometimes even they go ruthless by giving shock therapies as in to change them from homosexual to heterosexual . The society treat them as some shame to the society and are bullied, harassed in different places. The Section 377 is also misused by the police even to torture them for money and threaten them to reveal their truth in the society.
A gay man was sacked by St Joseph’s College of Arts and Sciences in Bangalore, and kicked up a fuss about it, a young man who was harassed, gaslighted and tormented at the college by the principal for his gender non-conforming behaviour. The ephemeral nature of our lives and our deaths never ceases to astound me. An out gay boy in Bombay kills himself. Another cross-dressing gay boy gets gas lighted and hounded out of Loyola College in Chennai. Neither story really hits the headlines anywhere. The humiliation and abuse everywhere without being shown up by media.
The recent Pride Parade on May 17,2017 was organised in Bhopal the state capital of Madhya Pradesh by LGBTQ community and few friends who support them to reveal and come forward with their choices. One of the members of the organising committee said that “Thousand people in Bhopal face abuse, humiliation, social-boycott and isolation everyday. not debating or protesting people’s belief, we only talk about fundamental human rights and social acceptance of LGBTQ community.”
India’s first silent LGBT love story aims to make noise for the community. The director Faraz Arif Ansari chose a short film Sisak which many producers rejected as the protagonist was homosexual in the movie. The mainstream cinema also qualms on showing the real people and have stereotyping the society. He released the movie on his finance.
Even they fear to reveal their own identity to others and they feel like they are living in some other body and their souls are different. The sexuality is not a disease rather it’s a inborn emotion of an individual.
The constitution provides equal rights to all its citizens, so they are also the citizens of India are being tortured and discriminated ruthlessly in the society. There is a an urgent need of change for good and acceptance to all is very much needed in a civilized society.

Is
India prepared for natural disaster?
Natural
Disaster is an adverse phenomenon of the earth which destroys the earth. It is
an extreme sudden event caused by the environmental factors .A natural disaster
disrupts the normal process of life in a particular area. There is countable
number of people die but the number of animals after a disaster. After disaster
people are in a state of shock for a period of time. People comes in a state of
shock as they don’t understand what has happened that changed their lives,
destroyed their homes and area too. A natural disaster happens all over the
world but there are certain areas which are highly prone to certain kinds of
disasters.
In
India number of natural disasters, i.e. earthquakes, Tsunamis, cyclones, landslide
etc, have occurred since years. India has an physiography, it is an country
prone to different disasters. So, the country needs an efficient disaster
management and is has to be ready for any of it at anytime. The question here
arises is India ready for natural disaster, has the government working
efficiently on this. It is very important to understand and put heed to the
management of disaster in India. The Government of India has set National
Disaster Management Authority for the management of disaster, it develops
Preparedness and Rehabilitation. National Disaster Policy was set up in 2009.The
Government of India provides lot of support to the National Disaster management
Authority; together they want to reduce the damage to life and property by the
Pre-disaster ways.
India
is a country with high population and illiteracy too, so there is a very less
awareness among people about the disasters and its effects, people don’t take
it seriously to know about the disasters, there is very less concern about disasters .People are not ready to know about
it. Sometimes it’s not just the illiteracy but other reasons that make them do
so, the need of livelihood. The major population of India have not understood
the concept of a disaster and how it would affect them. Government have taken
various steps to aware people about disaster, its preparedness and mitigation.
Its not just only in the hand of
Government but people have to put their efforts for the reducing the
effects on life and property as it cannot be stopped, regulations have set to
for constructions of infrastructures, environmental laws and regulations on
compulsory study about environment in schools.
Disaster
can come anytime anywhere anyway, sometimes predictions on disaster are not
available. Its responsibility of everybody to be ready for an disaster. The
Government have made an afford in for pre-disaster and post-disaster management
but its not enough, the government has to increase its efficiency managing
disasters. India is a country of diversity
